Description

A flavorful and cheesy Doritos Taco Casserole made with seasoned ground beef, creamy soup, and crushed Doritos, perfect for a family dinner or potluck.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups Doritos, crushed (Nacho Cheese flavor recommended)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Optional toppings: sliced olives, chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and drained diced tomatoes with green chilies. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until combined.
  5. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread half of the crushed Doritos on the bottom.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the Doritos and spread evenly. Top with half of the shredded cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining Doritos on top, then add the remaining cheese.
  8. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Top with desired optional toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, substitute cream of mushroom with cream of chicken or nacho cheese soup.
  • Ground turkey or shredded chicken can be used instead of beef.
  • Add black beans or corn for more texture and nutrition.
