Description
A beloved treat from Dollywood, this famous cinnamon bread is sweet, soft, and generously coated in butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch the thawed bread dough into a rectangle.
- Use a sharp knife or kitchen scissors to cut 4-5 deep slits across the top of the dough, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together.
- Brush the dough with melted butter, making sure to get into the slits.
- Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the entire surface of the dough, pressing it in lightly.
- Place the dough into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While bread is baking, prepare glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Remove bread from oven and let cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
Notes
- Best served warm straight out of the oven.
- Can be reheated in the microwave for a few seconds if needed.
- Try adding chopped pecans or raisins for a twist.
