Description

A beloved treat from Dollywood, this famous cinnamon bread is sweet, soft, and generously coated in butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, stretch the thawed bread dough into a rectangle.
  3. Use a sharp knife or kitchen scissors to cut 4-5 deep slits across the top of the dough, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together.
  5. Brush the dough with melted butter, making sure to get into the slits.
  6. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the entire surface of the dough, pressing it in lightly.
  7. Place the dough into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. While bread is baking, prepare glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Remove bread from oven and let cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.

Notes

  • Best served warm straight out of the oven.
  • Can be reheated in the microwave for a few seconds if needed.
  • Try adding chopped pecans or raisins for a twist.
