Sandwich Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (preferably sourdough or your favorite type)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite cheese)
- 4-6 dill pickle slices (or more, to taste)
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. If you choose to use mayonnaise, spread it on the opposite side of the bread slices to add extra creaminess and flavor.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one piece of bread. Layer 4 to 6 dill pickle slices evenly over the cheese, then top the pickles with the second slice of cheese to help keep the pickles in place and create a melty sandwich.
- Grill the Sandwich: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich onto the skillet with the buttered side down. Grill for about 3 to 4 minutes until the bread turns golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the second side for another 3 to 4 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden and crispy.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the grilled sandwich from the skillet. Slice it in half if desired, and serve immediately while warm and gooey.
Notes
- Use sourdough bread or any sturdy bread to hold the pickles and cheese well.
- Cheese options like American, cheddar, or any melty cheese work perfectly.
- Adjust the number of pickle slices to your taste preference.
- Mayonnaise is optional but adds creaminess and richness to the sandwich.
- Cook on medium heat to ensure bread crisps without burning and cheese properly melts.
