- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
- 2 large eggs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dip each piece of chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken nuggets in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- You can bake the nuggets at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes as a healthier option.
- Use an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Add some cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
- Double the batch and freeze extras for a quick snack later.
