- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Place chicken pieces in a bowl with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- Dip each chicken piece first in the egg, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken nuggets in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove nuggets and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the buttermilk overnight.
- Bake or air fry for a healthier alternative.
- Use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour to make it gluten-free.
