Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish (or finely chopped dill pickles)
Dough
- 1 sheet or package of crescent roll dough (8 oz, sheets or rolls)
Topping
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
Instructions
- Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and dill pickle relish. Stir the mixture thoroughly until it is smooth, creamy, and evenly blended.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the crescent dough onto a clean surface. If using crescent rolls with perforations, press the seams firmly together to seal and create a full sheet of dough.
- Assemble: Spread the prepared cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the dough sheet. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape, then slice the roll into 1-inch thick rounds.
- Add Dill Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the fresh or dried dill. Brush this dill butter generously over the tops of each roll-up slice to add flavor and help with browning.
- Bake: Arrange the roll-ups on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, spacing them slightly apart. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 22 minutes, until the rolls turn golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
- Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally accompanied by ranch dressing for dipping, to enhance the creamy and tangy flavors.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure easy mixing and a smooth filling.
- Press the crescent dough perforations well to prevent it from opening during baking.
- You can substitute fresh dill with dried dill if fresh is unavailable, but fresh dill provides a brighter flavor.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the rolled dough evenly into 1-inch thick rounds for uniform baking.
- These roll-ups are best enjoyed fresh from the oven but can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated.
