- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into pieces.
- Add the diced onion and garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce thickens slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
