Description

A rich and creamy chicken garlic parmesan pasta that’s packed with flavor, perfect for a comforting dinner. Tender chicken, al dente pasta, and a velvety garlic parmesan sauce come together in one satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 12 ounces fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water (if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add it to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet, followed by the cooked pasta. Toss to coat in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce with reserved pasta water to suit your preference.
  • You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter version of the sauce.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
