Description

A delicious and creamy chicken asparagus pasta, combining tender chicken, fresh asparagus, and a rich, cheesy sauce for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then cook until golden and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add asparagus and sauté for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  7. Add Parmesan cheese, butter, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes; stir until sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  9. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat pasta for a healthier version.
  • Add mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
  • Adjust creaminess by adding more or less heavy cream as desired.
