These Cranberry Orange Cinnamon Rolls are a festive twist on the classic breakfast treat, filled with a tangy cranberry-orange filling and topped with luscious cream cheese frosting.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp milk (as needed for frosting consistency)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, and 1 tbsp orange zest. Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst and mixture thickens. Let cool.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread cranberry filling over the dough.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the filling.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While rolls bake, make frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, remaining orange zest, and milk until smooth.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- You can make the rolls ahead and refrigerate overnight before the second rise.
- Fresh or frozen cranberries both work well in the filling.
- Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
