Description

This classic chocolate chip cookie recipe tastes just like the original Nestle Toll House version—crispy edges, soft centers, and packed with melty chocolate chips. Perfect for cookie lovers who want that homemade, nostalgic flavor every time


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

 

  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.

  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Gradually mix in the flour mixture.

  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.

  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

 

  • Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.


Notes

  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.

  • Omit nuts for a nut-free version.
