Wet Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, gently mixing just until combined to avoid overworking the batter.
- Pour & Smooth Batter: Pour the prepared batter into the greased pan, smoothing the top evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
- Bake Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top turns a golden brown.
- Cool Cake: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- This cake is rich, dense, and sweet — perfect with a dusting of powdered sugar or topped with fresh berries.
- For a citrus twist, add lemon or orange zest to the batter before baking.
- Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the cake light.
- Use unsalted butter to better control the salt level in the cake.
