Description

This Condensed Milk Cake is a rich and dense dessert featuring a smooth batter made from sweetened condensed milk, eggs, and melted butter. With a subtle vanilla flavor and a golden crust, it’s a simple, one-bowl cake perfect for any occasion and easy to customize with citrus zest or fresh berries.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Mix Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, gently mixing just until combined to avoid overworking the batter.
  5. Pour & Smooth Batter: Pour the prepared batter into the greased pan, smoothing the top evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
  6. Bake Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top turns a golden brown.
  7. Cool Cake: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • This cake is rich, dense, and sweet — perfect with a dusting of powdered sugar or topped with fresh berries.
  • For a citrus twist, add lemon or orange zest to the batter before baking.
  • Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the cake light.
  • Use unsalted butter to better control the salt level in the cake.
