Description

Classic stuffed peppers filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, rice, and tomato sauce, baked to perfection for a comforting and hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers, tops cut off and seeds removed
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in cooked rice, half of the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Stuff the mixture evenly into the bell peppers and place them in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the stuffed peppers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use different colored bell peppers for a visually appealing dish.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
