Description

A traditional and comforting side dish made with green beans, creamy mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions. Perfect for holiday dinners and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked green beans (or 2 cans, drained)
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), and black pepper.
  3. Add the cooked green beans and 2/3 cup of the French fried onions to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling.
  6. Stir the casserole and sprinkle the remaining 2/3 cup of fried onions on top.
  7. Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen green beans instead of canned for better texture.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or garlic for extra flavor.
  • This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
