Ingredients
Scale
Peaches
- 4 large ripe peaches
Topping
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
Serving
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Peaches: Slice each peach in half and carefully remove the pits. Place the peach halves cut side up evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Make Topping: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg if using. Stir until well mixed.
- Apply Topping: Spoon the cinnamon sugar butter mixture evenly over the cut side of each peach half, ensuring good coverage for caramelization.
- Bake Peaches: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the peaches are tender and the topping is golden and caramelized.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm peaches topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired for an extra indulgent treat.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can sprinkle chopped nuts such as pecans or walnuts on top before baking.
- If peaches are tart, increase brown sugar amount slightly for added sweetness.
- If fresh peaches are out of season, frozen peach halves can be used but baking time may need adjustment.
- To keep peaches intact, handle gently when cutting and removing pits.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated gently before serving.
