Description

A warm, comforting dessert combining the flavors of cinnamon rolls with a crisp apple topping, perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 package cinnamon rolls (with icing)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the sliced apples evenly in the dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
  4. Open the cinnamon roll package and cut each roll into quarters. Scatter the pieces evenly over the apples.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, oats, flour, and nuts (if using). Sprinkle the oat mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the apples are tender and the cinnamon rolls are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle the included icing from the cinnamon rolls over the top of the dessert.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • You can substitute the oats with granola for added crunch.
  • Feel free to use any type of apples, but tart apples like Granny Smith work well.
  • This dessert can be served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
