These Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are a delicious twist on the classic recipe, combining gooey marshmallows and crispy rice cereal with rich chocolate for an easy no-bake dessert.

- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 oz (1 bag) mini marshmallows
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional for topping)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch pan with butter or non-stick spray and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and salt, stirring continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and melted semi-sweet chocolate until well combined.
- Remove from heat and quickly mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press it down evenly using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
- If desired, sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top and gently press them in.
- Let cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Use fresh marshmallows for best results — stale ones don’t melt as well.
- You can add peanut butter or Nutella to the mix for extra flavor.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
