Ingredients
Scale
Brownie Base
- 1 box fudge brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed on the box)
Topping
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for shine)
Instructions
- Prepare Brownies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease with nonstick spray. Follow the package directions to prepare the brownie batter. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool Brownies: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking pan to ensure the ganache sets properly later.
- Arrange Strawberries: Once cooled, place the halved strawberries cut-side down in a single layer over the surface of the brownies.
- Make Chocolate Ganache: In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until the mixture is melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate and cream using a double boiler. Stir in the butter if you want extra shine on your ganache.
- Pour Ganache: Pour the warm ganache evenly over the strawberries, spreading gently to coat them completely.
- Chill and Set: Refrigerate the brownies for at least 1 hour, or until the ganache is set and firm.
- Serve: Slice into 16 squares and serve chilled or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a richer brownie base, homemade brownies work wonderfully instead of box mix.
- Try substituting raspberries or cherries instead of strawberries for a unique twist.
- These brownies are best enjoyed within 2–3 days and should be stored in the fridge due to the fresh fruit topping.
