- 8 tostada shells
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1/2 cup salsa or hot sauce (optional)
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add shredded chicken, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
- Warm refried beans in a saucepan over low heat.
- Lay out the tostada shells on a flat surface or baking tray.
- Spread a layer of refried beans on each tostada shell.
- Top with seasoned chicken, followed by shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cheese.
- Garnish with cilantro, and optionally top with sour cream, salsa, and avocado slices.
- Serve immediately while the tostada shells are crispy.

- You can use store-bought or homemade tostada shells.
- Rotisserie chicken works great for convenience.
- Customize toppings based on preference or dietary needs.
- To keep tostadas crispy, assemble just before serving.
