Description

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in three separate bowls.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Top each chicken breast with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and remaining Parmesan cheese.
  6. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
