A refreshing and vibrant twist on the classic margarita, Cherry Margaritas combine the tartness of cherries with the zing of lime and the smoothness of tequila for a perfect summer cocktail.

- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup lime juice (about 4 limes)
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec or Cointreau)
- 1/2 cup silver tequila
- 2–3 tablespoons agave syrup or simple syrup (to taste)
- 1 cup ice (plus more for serving)
- Coarse salt or sugar, for rimming glasses
- Fresh cherries and lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Rim the edges of your glasses with lime juice and dip into coarse salt or sugar. Set aside.
- In a blender, combine the cherries, lime juice, orange liqueur, tequila, agave syrup, and ice. Blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more syrup.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother texture, if desired.
- Fill prepared glasses with ice and pour the cherry margarita mixture over the ice.
- Garnish with fresh cherries and lime wedges before serving.
Notes
- Frozen cherries can be used without thawing for a frostier drink.
- Adjust sweetness based on the ripeness of the cherries used.
- For a spicier kick, add a few slices of jalapeño before blending.
