- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in marinara sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well to coat with the sauce.
- Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and combined.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
- Use any pasta shape if bowtie is not available.
- Top with extra cheese and broil for a cheesy crust.
