Description

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour in marinara sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well to coat with the sauce.
  8. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and combined.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
  • Use any pasta shape if bowtie is not available.
  • Top with extra cheese and broil for a cheesy crust.
