- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, 1 cup sugar, eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 tsp vanilla and mix until creamy.
- Dollop the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter and swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a fudgier brownie, slightly underbake by a minute or two.
- Swirling gently ensures a beautiful marbled effect.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
