Ingredients
Scale
Seafood
- 2 lobster tails (4–6 oz each)
Butter Poaching Sauce
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper (or black pepper)
Garnish and Serving
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare Lobster Tails: Thaw lobster tails if frozen. Using kitchen scissors, cut down the top of each shell lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat upward, keeping it attached at the base, and rest it on top of the shell.
- Melt Butter and Infuse Flavors: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Allow the butter to become fragrant but avoid bubbling or browning.
- Poach Lobster Tails: Add the lobster tails meat-side down into the flavored butter. Poach gently for 6–8 minutes, basting occasionally, until the meat is opaque and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 140°F.
- Serve: Carefully remove lobster tails from the butter. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately with lemon wedges and remaining butter for dipping.
Notes
- For an extra touch of elegance, serve over creamy risotto or alongside roasted vegetables.
- Keep the heat low while poaching to prevent the butter from browning or the lobster meat from becoming tough.
