Ingredients
Scale
French Bread Base
- 1 loaf of French Bread (cut in half lengthwise)
Chicken and Sauce
- 2 small chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2/3 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
Cheeses and Toppings
- 1 1/2 cups fontina cheese (freshly grated)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (freshly grated)
- 4 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 bunch cilantro (chopped)
Instructions
- Broil the French Bread: Place the French bread halves cut side up on a large cookie sheet. Broil in the oven for about 2 minutes, then rotate and broil for another 2 minutes, just until the tops are slightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until no longer pink in the center. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Pour in the buffalo wing sauce, stir to coat the chicken, reduce heat to low, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat.
- Assemble the Pizza: Brush 2 to 3 tablespoons of ranch dressing onto each French bread half. Drizzle 2 to 3 tablespoons of buffalo wing sauce over the ranch. Evenly sprinkle the fontina cheese over each piece of bread, then layer the buffalo chicken with sauce on top. Cover the chicken with the mozzarella cheese.
- Broil to Melt: Place the assembled bread back in the oven and broil on high for about 5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning. Broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle more buffalo wing sauce over the melted cheese and sprinkle with chopped green onions and cilantro. Cut into slices and serve immediately for best flavor.
Notes
- Watch the broiler closely when melting the cheese to prevent burning.
- You can adjust the amount of buffalo wing sauce to your preferred spice level.
- Substitute the ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing if desired.
- For a healthier option, use reduced-fat cheeses and chicken breast without skin.
- Serve with celery sticks and extra ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for a classic buffalo experience.
