Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
Sausage and Filling
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnish
- Chopped green onions or parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.
- Scramble Eggs: Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Over low heat, scramble the eggs in a nonstick skillet until they are just set but still soft and moist.
- Prepare Crescents: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles. On the wide end of each triangle, place a spoonful of scrambled eggs, a spoonful of cooked sausage, and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll Crescents: Roll up each crescent from the wide end to the tip, tucking in any filling if needed to keep it inside. Place each roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them sealed while baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Let the crescent rolls cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired for a fresh touch.
Notes
- You can prepare these crescent rolls ahead of time and simply reheat them for a quick breakfast on busy mornings.
- Add sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or spinach to the filling for extra nutrition and flavor.
- Serve with ketchup, hot sauce, or gravy on the side to complement the savory flavors.
