Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 6 cups cold water (preferably filtered or purified)
- 5 limes (cut into wedges, whole with skin)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
- Ice (as needed)
- Fresh lime slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Blend the Limes: Add the 5 lime wedges along with their skins, 6 cups of cold water, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar into a blender. Blend the mixture until it is smooth and the limes are thoroughly broken down to release their flavor.
- Strain the Mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl. Pour the blended lime mixture through the strainer, using a spoon to press and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp and lime pieces left in the strainer.
- Blend with Sweetened Condensed Milk: Rinse and clean the blender to remove any lime residue. Pour the strained lime juice mixture back into the blender, add 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk (adjust more for sweetness if desired), and blend again until the mixture is frothy and fully combined.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the Brazilian Lemonade over the ice, garnish with fresh lime slices if desired, and serve immediately while cold and frothy to enjoy the best flavor.
Notes
- Use whole limes including the peel to get the characteristic tangy and slightly bitter flavor unique to Brazilian Lemonade.
- Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to taste for desired sweetness and creaminess.
- Serve immediately after preparing to maintain the frothy texture and fresh flavor.
- For a less intense lime flavor, reduce the number of whole limes or remove the white pith before blending.
- This recipe can be made vegan by substituting sweetened condensed milk with a plant-based sweetened condensed alternative.
