Description

- 1 medium head of green cabbage, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the cabbage to the pan and stir to combine with the onions and garlic.
- Pour in the broth and add the apple cider vinegar.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and flavorful.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use butter instead of olive oil.
- You can add a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity of the vinegar.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
