Beef Lo Mein is a savory Chinese-American noodle dish made with tender slices of beef, vegetables, and egg noodles tossed in a flavorful soy-based sauce.

- 8 oz lo mein noodles
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 cup snow peas
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and remaining sesame oil to make the sauce. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger, then the vegetables. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
- Return beef to the skillet, add cooked noodles and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute beef with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
- Use fresh noodles for best texture, but dried ones work too.
- Add chili sauce for a spicy kick.
