Description

Juicy and flavorful BBQ grilled shrimp skewers, perfect for a summer cookout or quick weeknight dinner. Marinated in a smoky-sweet sauce and grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes if using.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Marinate for 15–30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread shrimp onto skewers, about 4–5 per skewer.
  6. Grill shrimp skewers for 2–3 minutes per side or until shrimp are opaque and slightly charred.
  7. Brush with additional BBQ sauce during the last minute of grilling, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with lemon wedges or your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Use jumbo shrimp for easier skewering and grilling.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp to avoid rubbery texture.
  • Pairs well with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
