- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes if using.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat. Marinate for 15–30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread shrimp onto skewers, about 4–5 per skewer.
- Grill shrimp skewers for 2–3 minutes per side or until shrimp are opaque and slightly charred.
- Brush with additional BBQ sauce during the last minute of grilling, if desired.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges or your favorite side dish.
Notes
- Use jumbo shrimp for easier skewering and grilling.
- Don’t overcook shrimp to avoid rubbery texture.
- Pairs well with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
