- 1/2 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1 egg white
- 6 slices white sandwich bread
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Finely chop the shrimp or pulse in a food processor until minced.
- In a bowl, combine chopped shrimp, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onion, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper, salt, sugar, and egg white. Mix until well combined.
- Cut crusts off bread slices and cut each slice in half diagonally to form triangles.
- Spread a generous layer of the shrimp mixture on each bread triangle.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet and brush the edges of the bread with melted butter.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden and shrimp is cooked through.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the toast for 1-2 minutes after baking.
- You can add a pinch of chili flakes or Sriracha to the shrimp mixture for a spicy kick.
- These toasts can be prepared in advance and baked just before serving.
