Description

Baked Shrimp Toast is a crispy, creamy appetizer made with a flavorful shrimp mixture spread over bread slices and baked to golden perfection. It’s a crowd-pleasing snack perfect for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 6 slices white sandwich bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Finely chop the shrimp or pulse in a food processor until minced.
  3. In a bowl, combine chopped shrimp, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onion, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper, salt, sugar, and egg white. Mix until well combined.
  4. Cut crusts off bread slices and cut each slice in half diagonally to form triangles.
  5. Spread a generous layer of the shrimp mixture on each bread triangle.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet and brush the edges of the bread with melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden and shrimp is cooked through.
  9. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the toast for 1-2 minutes after baking.
  • You can add a pinch of chili flakes or Sriracha to the shrimp mixture for a spicy kick.
  • These toasts can be prepared in advance and baked just before serving.
