- 2 pounds frozen meatballs (beef, chicken, or turkey)
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and sriracha.
- Place frozen meatballs in the crockpot.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs and stir to coat evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, until meatballs are heated through.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- You can use homemade meatballs instead of frozen ones.
- Adjust the spice level by increasing or omitting the sriracha.
- These meatballs can be served over rice or noodles for a full meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
