- 4 cups chopped fresh or frozen fruit (such as apples, berries, peaches, or a mix)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional, depending on fruit sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for juicy fruits)
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, toss the fruit with lemon juice, sugar (if using), and cornstarch (if needed). Spread evenly in a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the fruit layer.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
