Description

A healthier twist on a classic Italian favorite, this Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan is crispy, cheesy, and ready in a fraction of the time without deep frying.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create 4 thinner cutlets. Pound to even thickness if necessary.
  3. Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and combine panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
  4. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and place breaded chicken inside in a single layer.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Spoon marinara sauce over each cutlet and top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Return to air fryer and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
