Description

Crispy and juicy chicken nuggets made healthier in the air fryer, perfect for a quick and kid-friendly meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crispiness)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat each piece in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the nuggets in a single layer. Do not overcrowd.
  6. Spray the tops of the nuggets with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

  • For extra crispy nuggets, use panko breadcrumbs.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste or add a dash of cayenne for heat.
