- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk the egg white and water until frothy.
- Add the pecans to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg if using.
- Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans and stir until they are well coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or a liner.
- Place the coated pecans in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Remove and let cool completely. The pecans will become crispier as they cool.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
- Adjust sugar levels to taste or use a sugar substitute for a lower sugar version.
