Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup salted butter (melted)
Layers
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1â…“ cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare the pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Line the pan with parchment paper, letting the paper hang over the edges for easy removal and clean, even squares.
- Make the crust: In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until well mixed. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust layer.
- Add sweetened condensed milk: Evenly drizzle the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker crust, ensuring full coverage.
- Layer toppings: Add the butterscotch chips, then the semi-sweet chocolate chips, spread the flaked coconut, and finally sprinkle the chopped pecans on top. Spread each ingredient evenly and gently press down with a fork to secure the layers.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top turns lightly golden brown.
- Cool and cut: While still warm, use the parchment paper edges to lift the bars out of the pan. Loosen the edges from the pan with a spatula if needed. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before cutting into 24 squares with a sharp knife.
Notes
- Allow bars to cool completely for clean cuts.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For added flavor, toast the coconut lightly before layering.
- Chilling the bars before cutting helps prevent crumbling.
- To make these bars nut-free, omit pecans or substitute with seeds.
