Description

Festive and fun Rice Krispie Treats perfect for celebrating the 4th of July, featuring red, white, and blue colors and classic marshmallow flavor.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • Sprinkles (red, white, and blue)
  • Non-stick cooking spray or butter for pan

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Divide the melted marshmallow mixture evenly into three bowls.
  5. Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to another. Leave the third bowl plain (white).
  6. Quickly stir 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into each bowl until well combined.
  7. Press the red mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared dish using a spatula or greased hands.
  8. Add the white layer next, pressing it down evenly over the red layer.
  9. Finish with the blue layer, pressing it down firmly.
  10. Add red, white, and blue sprinkles on top while still warm.
  11. Let the treats cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for more vibrant colors.
  • Work quickly when layering to ensure the colors stick together.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
