Description

Festive red, white, and blue cookies perfect for celebrating the 4th of July. These soft and chewy cookies are decorated with patriotic sprinkles and chocolate chips for a delicious and colorful treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup red candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/2 cup blue candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/4 cup patriotic sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk, and beat until light and creamy.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolates.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Top each dough ball with patriotic sprinkles.
  9. Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
  10. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk or dark chocolate chips if preferred.
  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help prevent spreading.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
