- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup red candy-coated chocolates
- 1/2 cup blue candy-coated chocolates
- 1/4 cup patriotic sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk, and beat until light and creamy.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in white chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolates.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Top each dough ball with patriotic sprinkles.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- You can substitute milk or dark chocolate chips if preferred.
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help prevent spreading.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
